One of the countries to which terrorist suspects have allegedly been transferred through the extra-legal process of rendition. It has been reported that Muhammad Saad Iqbal Madni, arrested by Indonesian intelligence agents in January 2002 with U.S. assistance, was flown to Egypt on an unmarked U.S.-registered plane. Egypt has been regularly named in U.S. lists of countries that practice torture.
