Statement given by Hazarat Wali to military investigators in Kabul

Translation: "It had been four months since I volunteered to work as a soldier for the Kisht Quol unit of the 3rd Army. I was assigned to the Sato Kandaw security post. On the date of March 1, 2003, I was present when suddenly 60 foreign soldiers arrived at our post. Our number totaled 12 and only 8 of us were around that day. When they came, they asked us for tea and said that they would go inside the room to drink tea.

When the tea was ready and we were about to pour tea into cups, they pulled weapons on us and demanded that we not make a move. We stopped and they collected our weapons and blindfolded us. We were taken to a camp near the city of Gardez. There we were severely and repeatedly beaten, as a result of which the brother of Naseer Ahmad, Jamal, was martyred. They also pulled out Naseer's nails. Afterwards, we were handed over to the Security Command for Gardez and detained until April 22, 2003.

As of April 30, 2003, we were transferred and imprisoned at the detention facility for the Kabul Security Command. This statement is written based on my word of mouth and read to me afterwards. I am confirming it."
