Colonel
Charles J. Dunlap, Jr. is Staff Judge Advocate, U.S. Strategic Command,
Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. He holds a bachelor of arts degree
in history from St. Joseph's University and a juris doctorate from
Villanova University School of Law. He also is a graduate of the
Armed Forces Staff College and a distinguished graduate of the National
War College. Colonel Dunlap is the author of numerous articles on
legal and national security affairs. His writings have appeared
in a variety of publications, including Parameters, Military Review,
Joint Force Quarterly, and The National Interest. One of his papers,
"The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012," was co-winner
of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Strategy Essay Contest,
a competition among students from all the military's senior service
schools.
