of Toronto and Director of the Neuropsychiatry Programme at Sunnybrook
and Womenıs College Health Science Centre.
Dr.
Feinstein obtained his medical degree in South Africa and completed
his postgraduate training in Psychiatry at the Royal Free Hospital
in London. Thereafter, he undertook his Ph.D. through the University
of London and the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square. He leads
an active research program that is funded through the Medical Research

multiple sclerosis and traumatic brain injury, and how individuals
react to and cope with significant, often life threatening stressors.
It is with respect to the latter that he has received a Guggenheim
Fellowship (2000-2001) to study mental health issues in post-apartheid
Namibia. His medical journal of wartime experiences in Namibia and
Angola has recently been published.
